Application of Schema..? Vs Tables

I am not clear about application of schema..? Is it a structure that combine different tables in a one form. Describe it?

A database schema is simply its structure means how the database is designed. When we talk about relational database, the schema would define the tables, the fields in each table, and the relationship between each field and table. Schemas are generally stored in data dictionary.
