A Traffic Nightmare Summary

The people living on the Beach Road protest strongly due to the traffic problems which has made their lives difficult. Once Beach road was one way road for traffic traveling from South to North and then there was not much traffic on the road. But now when a two way road has been constructed here, the pressure of traffic has also been increased.

These new changes have produced difficulties for the students specially in crossing road and their parents have also been disturbed in picking and dropping then. All the traffic South to North is passing from Beach these days, the residents have to wait a long time to cross the road .

The Government authorities said that the changes on Beach road have been introduced to make betterment in the traffic flow. When they heard the news of protests they paid to attention and expected it would be die down soon. They also, refused to install any traffic signals or a zebra crossing there due to the shortage of money.

The committee of the Beach Road Residents Association is arranging meetings to discover the ways for the fulfillment of their demand or to press the authorities for the constellation of these new traffic arrangements. It also responsible for producing noise pollution.

A resident of the Beach Road describes the difficulties which have been produced due to the new changes of traffic on the Beach Road. According to his statement these changes were made on last Monday and from that day a period of problems has been started for them so he calls it "Black Monday".

Different people show their anger during the protests against the new charges of traffic on the Beach Road. One resident says that the new arrangements cause to flow a nonstop heavy traffic on the Beach Road and they have to wait a long time for crossing the road. A committee has been constructed to arrange a plan for the solution of the problems of the area which is known as "The Beach Road Residents Association (BRRA)". Its purpose to look after the problems and to make their solution. The committee will hold an emergency meeting to discuss the problems created by the new arrangements of traffic and will try to take action about it. 

 

We think the results will not be satisfactory as it always happens in the developing country like Pakistan. The government officers will not pay any attention on the protests and demands of the residents and at last the residents will have to compromise the situations which have been created by these new arrangements of the traffic.
