“Data Communication is the exchange of data (in the form of 0’s and 1’s) between two devices (computers) via some form of the transmission medium.” if two devices communicate with each other without any transmission medium then can we still call that data communication. Do data has to transfer from on side to another in the data communication.For example my mobile while being in my pocket receives signals from the network.

“Communications” always require a medium to transfer its information/data. Medium can be a wire or wireless medium like air. So when data communication is done there would be a medium for that communication.

For Example:  When you are sending data through mobile devices you are using “air” as medium.
