We define the relationship b/w the instances or entities ?

Entity infact in simple word is a table that contains multiple instance data in row form. It means every row represents an instance.

Purpose of Cardinality property is to see  of a join that describes how many rows in one table match rows in another table.

So, infact relationship exist among rows/ instances.
