What is the difference between semantic data model and record based data model?

Semantic data models allow for designing models at a higher level. These are the data models which provide us better flexibility in implementing constraints, better language utilities and better data structure constructs. Its types are ER- Data Model, Object oriented data model and Record Based data model.

Record based data models consists of different data record and their management structure whereas semantic data model is a technique to define the meaning of data and its relationship with other data.
