we would not follow any software lifecyle to built a prototype

My teacher said that we would not follow any software lifecyle to built a prototype then how we could create a prototype? do we make coding in prototype?or it will be a just presentation

Prototype is used to give user an idea about final product at requirement stage. User views a prototype and provides us feedback. In this way, we can better judge his requirements. Prototype is quick delivery product which is required at requirement stage so we dont follow any life cycle. We simply develop it and provide it to user. Prototype is an interactive product so coding is also done to give user clear idea about product working.
