Why we need composite value ?

We knew that the address of a person has House No, Street No then why we need it for composite value?

Suppose we have an attribute called "stAddress" where st stands for student. It consists of other attributes like House no, street code and city, so we will say "stAddress" attribute a composite attribute because it consists on other attributes.
