Packaging is related with the container in which product is offered for the sales. Like boxes, pet `bottles etc. The major function of the packaging is to protect the core product. For example Coke or Pepsi is supplied in plastic bottle, which not only keep the pressure of carbonate in the liquid but also make it handy, easy to drink and place in a shelf or fridge.

Obviously, when all these factors are under consideration, company has to develop more effective packages for the product, which requires research and development process. Huge amount of resources are allocated for this purpose, which consequently raise the distribution cost of the product.
