What is meant by 'slot' in CSMA/CA? Please explain this line "Receiver responds with short message reserving slot for transmitter."
In CSMA/ CA slot is specific channel is reserved for transmission for specific time. In CSMA/CA before sending a data instead of sensing a carrier very short message means control packet is sent from sender side to receiver to know that receiver is free and available and then in response acknowledgement packet is sent from receiver that it is free and available for accepting data then receiver will reserve specific slot for that sender. If receiver will not free then it will reject the packet and will not any respond.
