Which macbook pro to get?

I’m going to major in photography and was wondering which one to get? the 13 inch or the 15 inch? the 13 inch for portability but i also want power behind it, which the 15 inch can provide. Is the 15 inch light enough to be portable and carry it around for daily use, or do i have to give up the “power” for the portability of the 13 inch? Also for those who are in professional photography: what do you have and why? Thanks

I am required to have the 15-inch for school, I'm in a multimedia program. I carry it around with me every day, all day, and it is quite heavy! But its not too bad if its the only heavy thing in my backpack. Just consider what else you might have to be lugging around, like cameras & other photography equipment. For what I do, the bigger screen is definitely nice, but I don't feel like its NECESSARY. I'm sure you can still get pretty powerful specs in the 13-inch, can't you? Oh and if you're doing photography, I highly recommend spending the extra money on the anti-glare screen, I have it and it looks so much nicer and brighter than the glossy screen. Just my advice :)

Get the 15 inch, because the 17 inch is heavier.

I’m also a photography student. the 13in is definitely nice since it’s lighter/more portable, but I find the screen way to small to work on, especially if you’re doing a lot of editing. I personally have the 15in with a 2.4GHz and 4gb of memory and find that it works fine. Some programs (depending how many you have open/what you’re trying to do) may run a little slower, but I don’t mind at all. I’d say get an extra display if you have the extra cash, that way you can have your tools on one screen and your image alone on the display which would be larger/easier to edit on. Also, invest in an external hard-drive and back-up regularly, they are worth the $120.00. The 15in isn’t bad to carry around either. Sometimes it can be a pain when you’re trying to carry your laptop, books, binders and camera etc at once, but that’s just life haha. I have the anti-glare screen and love it! Although they do warn you though that some of the colours aren’t as true to nature if you get the anti-glare. I don’t find a big difference at all though.

I would get a 15 or 17 inch. 13′ is too small for really looking at photos. Also get the anti glare screen. I know it isn’t as sexy as the nice shiny screen but you will be happier with your image quality.

I also bought a macbook for the purpose of photo editing and i have a 13″ because it it lighter than the 15″ and I find it easy to work on it when i am using it while sitting the bed. I recommend this article written by an actual user, it should help you decide whether to get it: http://budurl.com/MacBookProBReview And this is the best price i could find: http://budurl.com/MacBookProLatest
