What is difference in wants and desire?

Is there difference between wants and desire?

Want: A need when shaped by culture and personality of the individual become want. E.g in our Pakistani culture, we will prefer to have Rice and “salan(Pakistani saying to meat)” while in European world they would prefer to have fast-food.

Desire: it may be wish of a person to have something, but indeed just desire is not sufficient. A person must have a buying power to full fill his or her desire, and this is known as demand.
