Am i correct that protocol is the address?

Am i correct that protocol is the address where data have to be recieved like ip address
Please explain it simply

No protocol is not any address.As to work on any system (a school,computer) we have to follow some ways/rules that tell us how we will work in/on it.So protocols are those rules that are followed to perform any functionality.
