Difference in standards and no-standards?

I am not understand difference between standards and no-standards?

Standard is a definition, format or a model that has been approved by a recognized standards organization. Standards exist for programming languages, operating systems, data formats, communications protocols, and electrical interfaces. Data communication standards are created to ensure that individual products (possibly from two independent sources) designed to perform data communications tasks will actually be able to work together to perform these tasks. The manufacturers of different devices follow the standards. If two devices designed by two different companies follow the same standard then both will be compatible with each other otherwise without standards only hardware and software from the same company could be used together. A device prepared by a specific manufacturer may not be compatible with the devices prepared by other manufacturers if it has not been designed by following a standard. For example, auto mobiles.
