Confused about session ?

Can we say that the time consumed during the communication is called session..?
I am confused to understand the term session.

Yes we can say that session is the period of time during which two devices / entities remain in a dialog between each other. Basically, session is the meeting or a conversation between two or more communicating devices. Session and some other key terminologies related to Data Communication
