Difference in exchange and transactions?

Whats the difference between exchange and transactions?

Usually these terms have been used in similar meaning but technically there is a difference between them. Simply, a deal of good or services where money is involved is known as transaction and where money is not directly involve (barter trade) is known as exchange.

In marketing concept, the word exchange refers to the exchange of value, which means giving a value (probably money) in return of that particular product. Where as transaction refers to the money involvement which buying or purchasing of any product by giving money in return.

Exchange:
It is the agreement between two parties that involves a trade of goods or services of equal perceived value without any monetary compensation.

Transaction:
An agreement between a buyer and a seller to exchange an asset for payment
