There are many factors involved for a successful business such as business services, location, efforts, product etc. one of the major factors is Marketing activities. Without proper marketing people would not know about your business, brand or services. Marketing activities play a great role to promote the business.

Attracting the customer towards your product or service provided by you or your organization is very important it will increase the sales and profit, as well as it improves the brand. It can be done by doing proper marketing activities. The marketing activities involve effective communication, promote your idea, brand or business using different ways.

Understanding the customer and their needs, review the market trends, reach out more and more people effectively and continue productivity are some important factor a business owner must know. It can be achieved using proper marketing activities. Marketing Channels:

According to the goals and objectives of a business we use different kind of marketing channels to attract customers. Questions is what are the marketing channels or categories? A group of different kind of marketing activities based on the business's vision, mission , goals and objectives. Although we know the PROFIT is the main thing which every business owner want to gain but it is not only one thing we need to achieve from the business in this era.

The marketing in any form either it is digital marketing, traditional marketing can be elaborated by three factors.

  • New customers: attract new customer based on your product and services.
  • Grow Customers: get more customers based on customer's needs, requirement, changes in market by your product and services.
  • Maintain the customer: do not let the customer leave you and get attracted to other products or services due to negligence e.g. price, services, product etc.

By performing effective marketing activities the business will gain better market share, growth in profit and revenue. In below section we will explain each individual marketing activity from the list of marketing activities.

#1. Market Research

The first activity in Marketing activities is Market Research. Before launching any product or services, it is very important to know about the market environment, market trends , customer and consumers , existing products and competitors etc. All these can be achieved using Market research. No matter you are starting a new business or a new product, your business or organization is small or large, You must do the market research.

It will help you to understand your consumer as well as the product or service you are going to launch. Not only this but you may spot new opportunities by doing market research based on different factors such as new or existing customers, age of the customers, needs of the customers. It will help to reduce the risk of failure of the product or service. The rate of survival of your business and product will be high as you would aware different risk factors in advance and you will plan it accordingly. By doing market research you may create a better product and service , test and evaluate it based on market research.

 

#2. Select the Customer Segment market

The market is huge there are a lot of customers and consumers in the market and of course they have different needs and requirements. Your business might not be able to fulfill all these needs. Hence identify specific customer groups from these large groups of customers. To identify and focus on a specific group of customers based on different factors such as age, location, lifestyle etc. known as customer segments.


Once you identify and focus on a specific customer segment, your product or service will be based on these segments. The product or service can be customized based on those customers. It is not necessary to always focus on this customer segment once you are able to achieve the targets you may move on to the next segment, create new products and enhance existing products on single or multiple customer segments.

#3. Product and Services

Right product, right time and right customers are key factors. A business must offer the right product or service at the right time with the right customers. What happen if you launch a coffee machine in an area where people prefer tea or blankets in (e.g. gulf countries) where temperature is 40+ almost the whole year.


Maybe the idea of coffee attracts minor or major customers but will they retain it for a longer time? You might need to work on that by using a longer market campaign to change their habits.


It is very important to understand what are the customer needs, what are their expectations from product or services although you can not satisfy 100% of their expectations.  

Before any product or service launch you may thing as a customer or consumer as well. If this product or service attract you, your family and friends. Will you  use this product for a longer time. what is the specialty in your product compare to other products in market and you purchase it due to these different features.

#4. Build Customer Experience

Customer experience play has a great impact on your business. The customer's emotional attachment with your product and brand and good experience will automatically increase your product sale and grow the business. The happy customer will be loyal with your products and brand as well as recommending it to others same the negative feedback will reduce it as well.


Business may consider different techniques to gain positive customer experience such as

  • Get customer feedback and revert back to them.
  • Return back to customer by discount and offers.
  • Availability of product in right time.

 

#5. Set Product distribution channels

The aim of distribution channels is to bring the product or service into the market. These distribution channels could be direct, indirect , dual distribution.


The direct distribution of zero-level channels of the product will be supplied from manufacturer to consumer while in-direct distribution done by intermediate channels like supplier, wholesaler, retailers etc.


It is very important to set an appropriate product distribution channel as it will affect product cost and profit as well as availability of product and customer feedback.

#6. Promotional

Let the customer know what you have and what they get by consuming this. It can be achieved by promotional activities or product promotion. The promotion can be perform for specific product or product chain or the whole brand as well. We can say the promotions are the activities done by organization for their brand, product and services to spread awareness for their products or services. The marketing teams use various kind of activities to promote the business it could be direct e.g. show and promote the product, indirect e.g. spread awareness of something and show the product with/in this message.

#7. Pricing

Among all factor involves in marketing activities the pricing is only factor which directly link with business' profit. Hence we need to consider and decide the prices very carefully. Customers, production cost , expenses, place, retailers , supplier , brand are many factors involve to set the product or service prices. business use different tactics to define prices and have different strategies like customer-oriented prices, operational-oriented prices, profit-oriented prices.

#8. Customer Service

A good customer service will directly impact on your business, brand and product. Let the customer know you care for them and provide your feedback to them directly or indirectly. Answer their queries and questions. Perform different kind of surveys, periodic reviews, customer feedback to know what customers think about your product.Also care for the employees, they are also great promoter of your brand in the outside market. The customer service could be different based on your product and services
