Is profit Necessory

As per Definition, Delivery of Customers satisfaction at profit. Is Profit necessary? In some cases we do marketing for non profit purposes.

It depends on the purpose of the business. Normally business are run for profit and marketing helps to get the greater profits by integrating and focusing all the functions on the customer group or target market. There exist organizations that are not doing business for profit generation but for helping the society and exerting their efforts to improve the well-being of the society. Although profits are not the purpose of their business but still they require funds and monetary support to run the usual course of their business which may be the well-being of the society.
