 What is problem with "PING"?

Ping is a program used to check whether a host is up and active in network. It is used for testing whether a particular computer is connected to the Internet/LAN.If ping does not analysis any responses from host computer it cannot tell the reason of problem.In simple meaning if there is any problem occurs then ping can not specify where the problem in route for this purpose trace route command is used.
