Difference in Frames,Packets, STP, UTP

1) Whats difference between frame and pickets.
2) If we are using local area network by  STP or UTP cable and tell me in the way is or u can say in local area network using frames or just chunks of packets.
3) I want to know about if we are block the ping process's our a network because of hackers attacks  or just a main server then how can we do this .if we block ping then our local network are effected or not  i mean we can ping the local computer by the server ?

These two words are commonly used in the networking world. A packet is the PDU - protocol delivery unit at layer 3 (network layer) of the networking OSI model or you can say the WAN. You may have heard them referred to as IP packets. This is the organization of your data at layer 3

A frame is the PDU of layer 2 (data link) of the OSI model on a LAN. At layer 2, packets get encapsulated into frames so that they can be transferred over different media to the end destination. Still the same data it could be split up differently due to varying window size, but there are a few different details added into the frame header.

On a LAN you will be using the twisted pair so the frames will be working there. The hacker use the ping command for Denial of Service a DoS Attack or flooding attack to make the server busy or crash it so it cannot work. The blockage of the ping will not effect anyways.
