The best and worst times to drink coffee
“Ideally, you should drink coffee 10-15 minutes after breakfast, when the food has already begun to digest,” says the doctor.
The expert warns not to drink the drink on an empty stomach. Dr. Marat Sarev draws attention to the fact that the drink contains acids and as a result of its consumption the level of acidity in the stomach will increase. This, in turn, can negatively affect the condition of the mucosa, especially if there are old, chronic problems, erosions or ulcerative lesions.
“You cannot drink coffee on an empty stomach, as it contains elements that affect the esophagus and stomach lining. They can cause additional irritation,” warns Dr. Sarev.
The doctor adds that the invigorating and toning effect is inherent only to coffee made from coffee beans that contain specific ingredients. Soluble types of drink, on the contrary, can have a soporific effect, which is explained by the presence of two components in them – caffeine and theobromine, which affect the body in a close relationship.
After consuming this coffee, there is initially a certain surge of strength due to the action of caffeine, but then theobromine “turns on”, which has the opposite effect, helping to reduce blood pressure and a sleepy state.
