Personal selling is face to face interaction with one or prospective buyers for the purpose of making presentations, answering questions, and procuring orders. The benefits of personal selling are:

    Personal interaction which involves immediate and interactive relationship with two or more prospective buyers which enables to observe other’s reactions.
    Cultivation of rapport, matter of fact selling, personal friendship rather a range of different relationships are possible with personal selling
    Personal selling gives the buyer the advantage of being heard and at the same time the buyer feels obliged to respond.

Examples of personal selling are numerous: a medical sales rep representing pharmaceutical company  and selling important drugs and medicine, the engineering salesperson who provides technical and professional consultancy and information to client companies for purchase of complicated machinery, insurance agent are all examples of personal selling.
